So who do you have on Saturday's UFC PPV? Hughes vs. Alves- Hughes if he can get/keep Alves down by decision. If Alves keeps it standing, Alves KO Hughes in the second. Vera vs. Werdum-Vera Davis vs. Swick-Davis Bisping vs. Day-Bisping Rivera vs. Kamppman-going for Rivera but Kamppman will probably take it Leites vs. Marquardt-Marquardt by anything he wants.

I watched the Pulver vs. Faber. Pretty good fight. I think Jens' time has passed but, there is nothing more beautiful than his left hand meeting face. Faber is a fuckin' pretty boy if I've ever seen one. What do you think of Miguel Torres? God, I love watching that kid fight. He's all go.

What about Charlie Valencia? I think he's the shit too. Urijah may be a pretty boy but he still wrecks everybody.

Also, rumors are abounding that Floyd "the Bitch" Mayweather is signing with the UFC. I'm not really buying this because he is a natural 145lbs. The UFC doesn't have that weight class and I think they will lose money by sending him to the WEC. Either way, pit him against a wrestler and he gets pounded on for three rounds.
On a side note, has anyone seen "Iron Ring" on BET. Its a gangsta version of the Ultimate Fighter with coaches who know a lot about MMA like TI and Ludacris.

i dunno train, i read an interview with dana white on espn.com that says he will make an announcement thursday that "will blow peoples minds" and that the deal is already done. maybe floyd is it? he also said its an indication of where the biz is going in the next 5 years. my guess is that hes referring to boxing basically drying up as a sport (practically already there) and an even bigger explosion of MMA. just a guess though!
he also said kimbo is a dumb, slow freakshow who sucks...which i think everyone can agree on.

I just can't see Mayweather retiring from boxing, where he made millions and millions per fight to try a sport he's gonna get his ass kicked at and make at the very most $750,000.
The largest purse for a single fight that I've heard is the $2 million Fedor is gonna get for his upcoming fight with Tim Sylvia. Thats chump change to Mayweather.
My guess is the announcement is some kind of cable deal similar to EliteXC being on CBS.

Now the rumor is that Mayweather is going to have a vested interest in the UFC worth $200 million. That would make a lot more sense but I still don't see him fighting in the octagon.

I've been doing Labor and Delivery clinicals lately, which are overnights, so I've had a lot of time to read. Last Thursday I read Iceman by Chuck Liddell. It was pretty good. He's a humble guy. He accepts his losses and doesn't make excuses. I found it interesting that Matt Hughes is a good friend of his. Seems kinda polar opposite to Chuck. Two nights ago I read Made in America by Matt Hughes. He comes off as the most arrogant SOB ever. The book is filled with stories of him and his twin beating up weaker people in college, getting A's without attending class, dating an 8th grader when he was out of college, etc. And for a Christian guy, he has a bastard son floating around somewhere in Illionois. He also has a great excuse for each one of his losses. Next I'm reading "A Fighter's Heart" by Sam Sheridan. Apparently he traveled and has done everything from Muay Thai-Sambo and writes about his travels.

UFC at the Target Center in August, I checked tickets for this and the cheapest I could find were $150 at the top of Target Center, I think I could see a lot more at home in front of the TV.
